I WOKE UP LIKE THIS

Because we can’t all be Yoncé, I’ve narrowed it down to these beauties to help me get my glow on.

Clockwise from top left:

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion is all I have been wearing on my cheeks since I bought it almost a month ago now. Such a beautiful peachy shade infused with a little champagne for a natural flushed glow.

The highlight shade in Tom Ford’s Shade & Illuminate in Intensity One is very unique in that it gives you a dewy, almost wet look sheen and transforms into a kind of sheer liquid to reflect light off the high points of the face. The most similar one I have encountered is my beloved Living Luminiser from RMS Beauty of which I am mourning the loss of and I really need to buy a new one because it is such a beautiful product!

Every time I wear this Mecca Cosmetica Signature Line Lit From Within Primer I seem to get compliments on how good my skin looks. It gives a the complexion a beautiful radiance – the name of the primer says it all really.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette has been one of my obsessions of late and I use it on a daily basis. I keep a separate Dim Light in my bag for touch ups – it sets my foundation, reduces shine, minimises pores and gives a beautiful soft focus glow. Incandescent Light is exclusive to the palette and is a beautiful highlight and I find it is really lovely and buildable, the textures of all these powders are so fine and an absolute dream to use. I didn’t actually think I would get much use out of Radiant Light but I love using it to bring warmth to my face and playing with a warmer light effect to contrast with the highlight shades. Definitely worth the investment if you’re in the market for an all rounder face palette!

By Terry Touche Veloutée is a godsend. Dark circles are brightened and concealed, I can safely say I can’t live without this product anymore.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Light has been my morning ‘moisturiser’ of late. I never thought I would be able to use an oil during the day, let alone under makeup, but this is very lightweight and my skin just drinks this stuff up. You’re also left with a really nice hydrated and dewy base that doesn’t look greasy.

On that note, the By Terry Hyaluronic Face Glow in Nude Glow is wonderful feels incredibly hydrating due to the hyaluronic acid in it and is beautiful as a very light base or under makeup as a primer. It also plumps the skin, making you look beautifully healthy and also smoothes over everything.

The Tom Ford Illuminating Primer is kind of the crème de la crème of glow-boosting complexion products. It feels beautiful on the skin, like a thin veil, and gives you the best skin of your life. Not only that, it also has some really beautiful skincare benefits: it has coffee bean extract to awaken tired skin, citric acid to exfoliate the skin and contains coconut, patchouli, bergamot and evening primrose oils to detoxify the skin.

I would love to know what your favourite glow-getting products or if you’ve used any of the ones I’ve mentioned!

  1. Oh I hear you on the Touche Veloutee... I'm joined at the hip with mine. SO good. I'm keen to get into Mecca to try out a few things from Josie Maran, I like the idea of a 'light' version of an oil for daytime. Beautiful pic as well!

  2. Oh I've missed your blog so much! Every time I get my free time back yours is the first I visit. Glad to catch up, I love this post. I'm not huge on glow per se because I have dark skin BUT I'm out of moisturizer and saw my grandmother had something interesting looking on her vanity. She's on of those that buys everything from hsn haha, but I slathered some on and it definitely was glowtastic. It's from Perlier and it's their Honey Miel youth serum. It leaves speckles of light reflection something or another and leaves you super supple. I dunno about using "youth" anything just yet though ;)

  5. I'd recommend the Hourglass Primer to you too, it's mineral, lightweight and has a subtle glow to it and it's light as a feather. One of my favourites I've tried. I love MAC soft and gentle highlighter powder too, but you've probably tried that one!
