At last, here is my final post from the whirlwind week that was MBFWA. And, of course, how could I not dedicate one to the dreaminess that was Alice McCall’s 10th anniversary show, my favourite of the week.

The setting: Bay 25 at Carriageworks, a beautiful warehouse space in which they had hung white ornaments from the ceiling, creating the most beautiful art installation. The atmosphere: so much fun. The invitations set the tone for the morning and everyone couldn’t wait to see what would be coming down the runway. Treats from Farmer Jo and Pressed Juices were handed out to guests and everyone was buzzing with excitement. The clothes: everything you would expect from Alice and so much more. Super sweet and feminine, the Alice McCall girl is a dreamer, a romantic and a wandering soul.

The palette included multiple shades of pink, sage green, lemon sorbet, powder blues and a whole lot of white. Sweet scalloped hems, pretty cutouts and polkadot lace details were aplenty but were balanced out by plunging necklines, cropped tops and sheer panelling. Oh and there was GLITTER.

The latter part of the show saw the emergence of a darker side, think bold graphic prints and high shine multi-coloured leggings. She also took it to the stratosphere with intergalactic references including a beautiful black glitter skirt that looked like the model was wearing the night sky (here is said look)!

The highlight was the finale, beautiful white confetti blew from above as the models did their final walk to the sweet sounds of 'Rainbow Connection'. It all really did feel like a dream and we had all been invited into Alice's wonderland. Such a magical moment, check it here!

Last MBFWA saw me purchasing this beauty and come Spring I think I’ll be adding to my collection. I am also extremely happy that the label has decided to try their hand at lingerie (my weakness, goodbye savings).

Whimsical and wonderful, congratulations on an incredible 10 years, Alice!
