In a perfect world, my wardrobe would consist of my favourite Aussie designers Josh Goot, ELLERY and LIFEwithBIRD. So you can understand my excitement when I came across Velvet Lane. Bringing together the crème de la crème of Australian and international fashion, you can't help but fall in love on the Lane.
Although opening their virtual doors just this year, Velvet Lane is already building a reputation for themselves as one of the major online destinations for fashion lovers.
The Lane is brimming with amazing designs from the likes of Romance Was Born, Kirrily Johnston, Easton Pearson, House of Holland, Karen Walker Eyewear, Christian Lacroix, Rachael Ruddick, Megan Park and Trelise Cooper plus many, many more. And not only do they do fashion, they also sell lifestyle wares, candles, beauty products, and furniture customised by local artists.
I've teamed up with the lovelies over at Velvet Lane to bring you my edit of the latest offerings on the Lane!
Let's kick it off with one of my favourite designers of all time. I die for Josh Goot. An absolute genius and legend and such an all-round lovely guy. When I first saw this on the Christine Centenera it was pure love. The print is exceptional, the colours heavenly and the cut is perfection... Really lusting after his whole Resort collection.
When the lookbook for this collection came out, I was a wee bit excited. I wanted everything. There's just something about owning an ELLERY piece that makes you feel so special and they feel like they were made with you in mind. If you know me, you would know I do love a good print. This one in particular is perfection, especially in a delicious silk. A really beautiful take on a classic floral print, Kym has taken it to a whole 'nother level and I love the slight neogothic feel to it and the contrasted wool sleeves are a dream. Like all ELLERY pieces, the cut is to die for, I am dying over the peplum at the waist. Need. Now.
As you may be able to tell from these past items, I'm a big lover of prints. I fell in love with the Romance Was Born show (which my friend Emma was in!) and the collaboration with Marvel appealed to my inner geek. The collection, however, is definitely not reflective of geekiness, but instead includes a beautiful array of printed clothes inspired by Marvel comic book characters. These She Hulk jeans need to get in my closet now. POW! Stunning colours, a little in-your-face but still subtle and the combination of polkadots and florals... just love!
I've been a long-time fan of Henry Holland's. I bought his suspender tights just to own a piece of Holland. And now I think I am in love with this gorgeous print. Looks floral on the surface but on further inspection the flowers are actually pom poms. The colours are loud, and keeping with Holland's aesthetic it's incredibly playful and fun.
Leather, embossed, minimal. And you can never go wrong with a staple black clutch. I love the intricate embossed detail that makes it just that little bit more special.
Black nails are one of my favourite looks. Although I love the edginess to them, I sometimes feel they can be a little too un-feminine. This colour from Butter London is the perfect middle ground, it provides a deep black with multi-coloured shimmers and I adore the galaxy effect. Coveting so badly!
