I first stumbled upon Audrey Kawasaki's work two years ago when I was dreaming up ideas for my Visual Arts HSC major work. I thought her paintings and techniques were so unique and although I didn't use her as inspiration for my own artwork, the ideas behind her practice were subconsciously integrated into my piece. I love the dreamlike qualities she uses and the soft, simple colour palettes she works with. The use of woodblock as canvas really reinforces the organic nature (no pun intended) of her paintings.
